Constitution Day activities for kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders
Constitution Day is September 17. It is the day we celebrate the signing of the Constitution of the United States. Activities to teach younger students about this important document of our nation are hard to find. This no prep 15 page PDF activity is designed specifically to teach kindergarteners, 1st graders and 2nd graders about the Constitution of the United States. Ten of the pages are dedicated to coloring facts. Each of these pages have a picture related to the coming forth of the Constitution and a few basic facts. These pages are also presented in chronological order, thus they can be used to create a timeline. Two of the pages in this packet are handwriting practice sheets. The students practice writing “We the People.” Need a challenge for some of your students? Then give them the final sheet. This is a copy of the Preamble to the Constitution. Your students can color this page, and even try to memorize the Preamble. The last page of this packet is a resource page. You’ll find a helpful book to read to your class. There are also internet links to information on the Constitution. Be sure to check out the last link. It is to an online coloring page of people, events and things related to the Constitution.
