Here are 4 math activities involving budgeting, unit pricing, rounding to the nearest penny, and more. In today's financial climate, consumer math is critical! Three fun, challenging explorations involving a camping trip, a day at the mall, and a late night visit to greasy spoon diner. An 8 question problem solving assessment with an answer key is included. I used these with my 6th graders, who needed a little help but enjoyed them! I will send you a zip file with all of the files in Word and in pdf form.

This unit is great. I used it with my 6th grade class and they really enjoyed it. It really puts real life application into teaching this unit.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I started teaching in 1998. I worked as a fifth grade classroom teacher for 4 years, teaching math, English, science, and reading, then taught 3 years of middle school math, reading, and English, and for 6 years I worked as a math resource teacher in grades 2 and 4. I recently became principal of an elementary school.
