This activity, based on SIOPĀ® principles, is designed to help students practice what they have learned about a content topic while developing their listening and speaking skills.

This is a fast paced game where one student starts with the question on their card, "Who has....?". The student who has the answer on his/her card chimes in with "I have....Who has...?", giving the answer and asking the question on their card.

This template has full instructions for how to set up the game for your classroom and topic. While this activity can be adapted for many levels, I have not tried it for students younger than 4th grade.

Should I be able to add curriculum directly to this template? If so, can you provide some advice because I can't get it to work. Thanks

Yup, all you need is a pen!

I am working on making the template so you can type into it, but right now I am in the end-of-year crunch like everyone else, so it is on my to-do list for this summer.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently an ESOL coach for my district, working with both ESOL and mainstream teachers to help them differentiate and improve the quality of their instruction for English language learners. I currently work in Maryland, but spent several years teaching in North Carolina, and I completed my student teaching in Tennessee as well. During my career, I have worked with students in grades K-8, though most of my attention has been focused on the upper grades, 4-8. I have been invited to Busan, S. Korea, twice to conduct 2 week teacher training seminars on Content Based English Instruction for English language learners, and I am SIOP trained. In addition, I also lead numerous Continuing Professional Development courses, workshops, and focus groups for teachers in my district. In addition to my MS, I also have a BA degree in Spanish and Mass Communications.
