Contractions are usually a difficult subject for students to comprehend, after all where does that apostrophe go. This lesson works to show students the three steps to creating a contraction out of two words. I written a song about contractions, make up some mnemonics for my English Learners (although all the students end up using them) and created a worksheet that can be completed individually or in pairs.
