How much fun can you have with magnetic letters and a cookie sheet? Your students will love learning sight words with this popular cookie sheet activity! Cookie Sheet Activities Volume 3 contains 3 sight word activities designed to be used during small group instruction or as activities within your literacy centers. The Building Sight Words activity contains 43 templates with sight words from lists 1-9 of the Dolch 220 sight word list. You will also receive 11 Sight Word Sentences templates with words from lists 1-3 and nine 4-In-A-Row templates.
You will need plastic letters for the Building Sight Words activity.
This activity aligns with Kindergarten Common Core State Standard K.RFS.3 (CCSS K.RFS.3) Read common high-frequency words by sight, and First Grade Common Core State Standard 1.RFS.3 (CCSS 1. RFS.3) Recognize and read grade-appropriate irregularly spelled words

You can purchase the magnetic letters in any grocery store or dollar store; however, I really like the shapes of these specific letters. I purchase them through Banks School Supply (you can google them online) and then type in "magnetic letters" in the search area. There is a package for upper-case and a package for lower-case letter. I am a RtI Coordinator working closely with K-3rd grade teachers providing hands-on support and professional development in the area of reading. My focus is using assessment data to guide classroom instruction as well as intervention for at-risk learners. Make, Take & Teach is my way of providing teachers with the materials they need for their small group intervention. Most activities can also be used in literacy centers. Teacher intervention kits contain 15 activities (already printed for you in color and on 90lb cardstock) which align to one of the Big Five Ideas and commonly adminstered assessments (e.g. DIBELS Next).
