This activity is designed to review previously learned geometry vocabulary such as horizontal, vertical, regular and irregular polygons, x axis, y axis, ordered pairs, symmetry, and origin. Students follow directions using directions with this vocabulary to plot points which eventually builds a regular hexagon. Students then draw intersecting lines of symmetry to locate the treasure. To extend this task to a higher level of Blooms thinking, students are encouraged to build their own treasure map directions. A grid is included which students are responsible for numbering.
