Counting Methods and Probability Review for Busy Teachers

This bundle includes the complete lesson handouts, worksheets, and answer keys for Counting Methods, parts I thru V, in their entirety. [NOTE: This Bundled Zip Folder can be EASILY opened with no additional software. Standard MS Word files are inside.]
Equation editor software within MS Word is used for a clear, professional look.
Word is needed to print. MathType is needed to edit equations.

All parts include lesson handouts, worksheets, and complete keys containing answers for all problems. Descriptions of each part are below. For even greater detail regarding each part, please refer to the separate individual component product listings.

Part I includes more basic counting methods: lists, tables, and tree diagrams. The lesson handout includes complete & clear explanations, diagrams, and examples. Also included is a worksheet (with key) with many varied problems including dollar bills, ice cream, dice, coins, etc.

Part II is the Fundamental (Multiplication) Counting Principle. The lesson handout includes complete & clear explanations, diagrams, and examples. Also included is a worksheet (with key) with many varied problems including dice, coins, license plates, test questions, etc.

Part III is Permutations. The lesson handout includes definitions of factorial, permutation, and nPr notation along with complete & clear explanations and examples. Also included is a worksheet (with key) with many varied problems including basic calculations, arrangements of letters in words with, and without repeated letters, flags, contest winners, song playlists, batting order, chairs in a row, etc.

Part IV is Combinations. The lesson handout includes definitions of factorial, combination, and nCr notation along with complete & clear explanations and examples. Also included is a worksheet (with key) with many varied problems involving basic calculations, playing cards, selecting a group of people, etc.

Part V is Permutations vs. Combinations. The lesson handout includes a recap of relevant definitions and nPr & nCr notation along with words commonly used in permutation and combination problems, and complete & clear examples. Also included is a worksheet (with key) with problems involving basic calculations, looking for a pattern between permutation and combination problems, and many varied problems in which the student needs to indicate whether permutation or combination is appropriate, and then solve.

15+ years teaching high school mathematics (all levels: basic, college-prep. and honors) Experience tutoring high school, college (undergraduate & graduate), and adult learners in mathematics, SAT & GRE test prep., and engineering. Started own financial advisory firm, Silver Maple Financial, LLC, and am a licensed financial advisor. Strong interest in finances of individual investing: compound interest, dollar-cost averaging, mutual funds, investing for retirement, etc. Worked for IBM as a computer programmer during college and for 3 years after college, then tutored while going back to school to be an educator. Never looked back! Best move I ever made! :-)
