This is a fun winter game that can be used to help students count small groups of coins as well as add up larger amounts of money. Students draw a card and move the amount that it says. They then add up the money on the space and add it to their running cost sheet. The student with the most money at the end wins! Coin counting does not exceed $1.00 amounts but the larger amounts do.
Awesome game! We love it! Only thing I would suggest is actually leaving the squares blank. We are Canadian so I ended up just placing different stacks of our own currency, BUT if you leave the squares blank you can change it up based on what you are learning, so all nickels or all dimes and then when ready throw in the quarters and dollars! Also the kids can collect their coins and add them up at the end of the game.
I am a tutor in an elementary school, and this was a great game for my kids! I also like the totaling sheet because I can use it with some of my students but not with others, so it provides differentiation.
