Turn those snap cubes into a fun and academic center!
Use these cards to have students copy the picture. Students will not only be counting but will also be using vocabulary and positional words as they build the structures.
Then record how many blocks it took to make the them. Students can even color in the student page with the colors used.
Or step it up and make it an addition problem... 5 red plus 10 yellows equals 15 blocks!
Included in this set is 8 - 8.5 by 11 task cards in color and black and white as well as 2 styles of recording sheets. These task cards are to scale so students can lay blocks on them if they wish.
Laminate and put in a center OR print and have students complete and record right on them.

I usually use snap cubes for free play in my PreK class. Now my students can use them to learn too! I can't wait to print, laminate and introduce them to my students. I bought all your lego/snap cube products.

My students love these... I use cubes as a math center and a daily five work work choice now! You should get them all. These have been great for back to school as we are making our alphabet out of animals!

Your elephant picture looks like a rhino, but otherwise I love this very creative idea. I also love that you didn't take up added pages with a busy cover page, etc. Thank you for sharing these! I will use them right away!

I am actually working on this packet right now! I just completed the updates. Now there are 12 animals (six pages) and two pages of recording pages for the kids to count how many blocks it took.

I really do love these!! My only suggestion would be to include the recording sheet where the students can record the number of cubes in the animal. I bought the February snap cubes & that one included the recording sheet.

I have taught for 9 years. Most has been in low-income areas and with second language learners. I have taught Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and technology. Kinder is where my heart is! I have also taught at the National I Teach Kindergarten conference in Las Vegas! I would say that was the highlight of my career, but how can you surpass teaching kids to read? =)
