This 19 page file includes everything you need to teach your junior astronauts about constellations! Students share their schema (brain file!) and expand their schema by learning more about constellations. Students then make their own constellations- which makes a beautiful bulletin board display. This file includes many colorful posters- make sure you have a color printer available! Please see the preview for some images of this file!! :)
***This file is also part of a larger unit, Solar System Spectacular: Calling all Junior Astronauts. This unit was added to TpT on February 20, 2012***
Third grade does an Objects in the Sky unit (in NC) and this is a great addition to our study of the stars. We touch on the constellations, but our student books do not give detail on very many constellations, so this will be a great resource! We did a craft last year where they made their own constellations, and I'm excited to see that as a part of this unit as well! Can't wait to use it!

We did a schoolwide unit on the solar system last year and my class focused on constellations. This packet was SO helpful, and my first graders were so into it!
