A pre-writing sheet for students to use in order to create a new creature by combining two halves of two different creatures. The students had a blast with this assignment!! They were so creative. They wrote a report on the new creature and made a detailed illustration and model with model magic clay.

I have taught for 16 years in a large, urban, public school district (I have taught in three different schools) and I LOVE it! I taught self-contained, multi-age gifted class for past seven years. Prior to this assignment, I taught regular ed 4th and 5th grades. I am now in an at-risk school teaching 5th grade! I am so lucky to have such great students, past and present!
