Hink Pinks are riddles with rhyming answers that will help your students learn to interpret data, make inferences, draw conclusions, and analyze new information. All the while, they are working with vocabulary and honing rimes. They have been a staple in gifted education with good reason. What could be better than a fun way to work with Bloom's Taxonomy?
Hink Pinks are riddles wherein the clues lead you to a 2 word answer. Each answer word must have just one syllable and the 2 words must rhyme. Similarly, Hinky Pinkies are riddles seeking answers with 2 syllables. Hinkity Pinkities have 3 syllable answers. For example:
Hink Pink clue: over-weight kitten
Hink Pink answer: fat cat
Now, finally, Hink Pinks are in a form that makes using them virtually effortless and they are CCSS aligned. In this packet you will find 32 cards with Hink Pink clues and an answer key. These cards are ready to be reproduced on card stock (pink, of course) and laminated. Then they can be used as a literacy center, a warm-up activity, or an anchor activity. My pull-out enrichment students beg for more every day. Yours will too!
After your students conquer Hink Pinks, look for my Hinky Pinky and Hinkity Pinkity packets. Enjoy!
