One of the best recipes that I have ever made in the classroom is Crock-Pot Applesauce. This easy recipe has enough steps that you can involve a lot of students in the activity but is simple enough that it can be done in class. Consider yourself warned, it smells delicious and you will have visitors stopping by your room to see what you're cooking up!
To accompany the Crock-Pot Applesauce recipe, I have provided blank recipe cards for students to complete independently.
In this unit you will also find:
graphic organizers to support exploring Crock-Pot applesauce
lined themed handwriting paper
chef hat craftivity {Great for anytime you cook in class!}
apple labeling
apple graphing (red, yellow, green)
apple themed book suggestions
Johnny Appleseed fact writing page

Bought this back in September but wanted to leave feedback when we actually did it. The kids had a blast! I bought a $20 corer/peeler/slicer from Amazon and the kids loved getting to crank out an apple to throw in the crockpot. Thanks for a fun and DELICIOUS activity!

I really liked your pack. On page 4, should the last word read 'last' instead of 'first'? And I would rather there be spaces between the lines for the children to write on pages 10-13. But I really liked your ingredients page and the story mapping pages. The chef hat idea is really fun and I can't wait to use some of these activities with my class next week. Thanks for sharing your creativity with the rest of us.
Thank you for your discovery. This is being corrected and an e-mail should be coming once the file is updated. I really appreciate your honesty.

OMG! I just came across your applesauce packet and I can't wait to use it this week. I tried the applesauce last year, but it did not go so well. The chef hats are too cute! My students are going to love those! Thanks for sharing your talents.

Hi Randi! I just purchased and downloaded the applesauce pack and noticed the mistake on page 4 is still there. "First" should say "Last". I plan on doing these activities with my first graders on Friday! Thanks for creating such a fun pack!
I have made this correction. I apologize for the inconvenience. I really hate when that happens. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to fix the mistake. If you have any issues when you re-download the document please contact me at teachitwithclass@gmail.com

Randi,
I really love your crock pot applesauce pack. I noticed a mistake and I can't change it on my pdf file. I was wondering if you could change it and send me the corrected pack. On page 4 I noticed that the last word should probably read 'last' instead of 'first' and I would really love to see some spaces between the lines on the writing pages. It's really hard for my kids to see where they are supposed to be writing. I really love your pack and I can't wait to try out the activity next week with my kiddos. Thanks for all of your hard work. I love your products!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will make the correction on the word 'last'. I will also take a look at the lined paper and see what I can figure out. When I re-upload to TPT you will get an e-mail stating that the file has been updated. At that time, you re-download the corrected document. Thank you for your feedback and for catching this. Thank you!
