Darling graphics and "ice cream truck" music accompany this scenario about a baker wanting to inventory his cupcakes. The lesson takes the students through the step-by-step process of creating & labeling a data table, and using that table to tally his wares. An empty data table / graph sheet is included for printing, so that students may work along with the lesson.
Students are taken through the process of creating a graph. The connections between data table labels and graph labels are clearly demonstrated for the students. The process for neatly outlining and coloring graph bars is detailed.
Then ending of the PowerPoint presentation features a slide that reconciles all of the tables, charts, and....cupcakes!
The PowerPoint includes:
• Instructional, interactive slideshow
• Printable follow-along worksheet that may be used to accompany this and other data collection activities
Although this presentation was originally created for second grade students, several upper grade teachers have commented that it was a good, quick review for their students who may have forgotten (or never really learned)

I like your Smarty Pants Bingo, I bought it and plan to use it with my third graders this year. Do you have other MPS products that are for sale? I am also a teacher in WA.
I have taught first and second grade for years. Last year I moved to third grade and did not realize the pressure that is put on the 3,4,5th grade teachers to pass he big test!!
I like your cursive desktags and plan to buy them, too.

I am putting the finishing touches on several projects. Let me know if you have specific suggestions or requests; I welcome the input. It will be interesting to see what (if any) changes are going to be made to the MSP to align with the Common Core State Standards. One thing is for sure--third grade teachers will be happy that many of the math standards that were previously introduced in third grade are now introduced in second grade. Thanks for your comments!
