This is the summative project for a grade 12 novel study.

There are 4 assignments all based on the idea that the novel is being made into a movie and the students are putting a media package together for it.

The assignments include:
- casting the major characters (current actors and why each was chosen)

- creating a soundtrack for the movie (3-D product with explanation of where in the movie each would be used and why)

- Movie poster (using symbols from the novel)

- Story review (3-5 paragraph essay. We do these early in the semester with short stories)

Review chart is included in the file. Students fill this out and then choose 3 to use as part of their discussion and recommendation of the story.

These assignments give a good range so that students usually find one or more that they really click with. It also touches on pop culture which engages students right away.
