Your kids will LOVE playing this dolch word game. This game is similar to Bang or Boom. Print game pieces onto cardstock and laminate. Cut cards apart. Mix cards up and put them in a stack. Place this game in a station or during small group instruction.
You can create your own rules, but this is how we play: The kids take turns drawing a card. If they read the dolch phrase correctly, they keep that card. If they get a black hole card, they lose a turn. I’ve also played where they loose all of their cards when a black hole card is drawn. It’s completely up to you. The player with the most cards once all cards have been played, wins!
Activities include 75 sight word phrases selected from the first 150 phrases.Great fun for working with words, literacy centers, and small groups!Reading sight words in context is important for automaticity to build fluency.

My students love playing this game when I do intervention groups. The first question they ask everyday is if this is one of the games they get to choose from.
I've been teaching for 10 years. I love the primary grades.
