This unit plan combines creative dance and earth science to guide students as they create meaningful dances to demonstrate and explain the water cycle.
The plan includes background information on dance and some dance skill-building activities to do with students before the main unit begins. There are two formative assessment tools, a checklist for solo phrases and a rubric for small group work.
This unit also includes a full-color poster of the water cycle sequence and full-color task cards for small groups of students to use in their choreography near the conclusion of the unit.
Among the additional resources are sample documentation, national standards references, frequently asked questions / troubleshooting hints, and a wealth of online links to further resources.
