This file is intended for students to track their own data. It's simplistic for any primary learner.
The 45 page collection of data will encourage student participation and accountability in learning goals. I've included a Student Notebook Cover, Mission Statement Example, Student Mission Statement Sheet, Character Trait Books for Rules and Expectations, Student Reflection Sheet, Data Notebook Explanation, and SMART Goals.
Also included are Goals, Action Plans, and Evaluation Sheets for Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Spelling. You'll find simple graphs for students to color weekly performance in each subject. Sheets remain consistent with the exception of graphics so that students can identify the subject to be colored. I've offered correlation guides, performance norms, and fluency graphs.

Will this really be appropriate for first grade? I can't see an example of the graphs or anything so I wasn't sure! : )
I created this document when I was teaching my first graders about data. I kept the file simple with only bar graphs so that my students could interpret the results easily. My intentions were to keep students accountable for their grades. I provided the same graphs with different graphics for various subjects to help students become independent. I had to monitor the graphs during the first nine weeks of 1st grade. If you'd like a picture example, email me at primarygraffiti(at)yahoo(dot)com

I am new to this! I purchased the data notebook, how do I get it?
Thanks
I use Covey's seven habits to introduce different components to my data notebook and SMART Goals. My intentions are to motivate the kids to take ownership of their grades through the wonderful stories from Seven Habits of Happy Kids. The book is a recommendation to jump start data notebooks by students but not correlated to the recording pages.
