I think I own every single one of these now! I love them. They are a great replacement for some of the 'junk" in our curriculum. My kids love these and so do I!

Can you tell me how you use the fluency packs?
Thanks!
I use a new one everyday. I introduce the Power words. We discuss them and use them in sentences. Next, I read the passage aloud first. We start off slowly and we begin reading it together for the second reading. We continue to do this 4 to 5 times. If we have time, I have students break into groups of 2 or 3 and practice reading it together. We complete the front of the page {the comprehension section} together as a class. The back {which I copy the second page onto the back of the passage} is usually an independent activity that we go over when the students are finished. Finally, I send these home with the students and they read them at home with their parents. For my students that have a hard time keeping up with these, their parents know that they can help them find words they know and that they can work on listening comprehension by reading it to their child and discussing the passage. Hope that helps :)
Hey girl! I love these but wanted to share a correction that needs to be made. On the story "It's Snowing," are the two sentences on the third stanza supposed to be reversed....the ground is turning white. The flakes are falling fast....so it will rhyme? Also, the word way is listed twice on the rhyming activity on the back. Thought u would want to know! :)
I have been a teacher for 10 years. I have taught Art, 1st grade and 3rd grade, but my heart is definitely in 1st. I love to create things that I think will make learning more fun for my students.
