This SMART board lesson explores Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. It provides a brief description of each holiday through text and video links. After each December holiday is introduced, there is a short activity to practice identifying symbols for each holiday. Students will identify, match, read, listen, spell, draw, and write in this lesson.
At the end there is a brief sorting exercise that can be used to assess student learning. There is also a writing and drawing piece.

I started as a reading specialist at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes. Since I've earned my Masters Degree in Special Education I have taught Kindergarten Self-Contained, inclusion grades 3-8, resource room, and Autism Self-Contained K,1,2. I currently teach a self-contained class of 6 students with autism ranging from ages 5-7. I enjoy creating enriching differentiated activities that are highly motivating, available to all students, and keep a high standard for their academic development.
