Your students have learned to identify 2d and 3d shapes and now your ready to teach them about which attributes are defining and which are non-defining. My 23 page SmartBoard lesson will help your first or second graders understand the difference between defining and non-defining attributes! The file includes a page of teacher notes, links to 2d and 3d shape videos, interactive pages (guess the shape by attributes, sorting defining and non-defining attributes), a printable worksheet to check for understanding (and a 2nd copy of the worksheet that is customizable for more practice) and 2 anchor posters (to use during the lesson and/or to print and post in your classroom).

I'm sorry I didn't read the questions and answers before purchasing. I can't get this to open using Inspire software. How do I receive a refund or do you have it in a power point?

Lisa, Would you consider selling this as a power point presentation. I don't have a smart board. I know it won't be interactive, but I feel it would be useful to have all the information. thanks Cindy

Hi Cindy! I am not a powerpoint user... unfortunately, I went straight from absolutely NO technology at my school into a new building with LOTS of tech, including smart boards. I totally skipped learning powerpoint and only use Notebook. Thanks so much for your interest though! I appreciate your visit to my TPT store!! I hope you find something else that will meet your needs on TPT!
Regards,
Lisa

I just bought this and I didn't realize I couldn't use this on my smart board. Is there any other options for use?

Hi! If you have a smart board, you should have the software, smart notebook. If your interactive whiteboard is another brand, this file will (unfortunately) not open. You can click "contact us" below and email TPT. Explain the problem and request a refund. If my products don't work for you, I hope you find some other great resources on TPT!!
Regards,
Lisa

Hi Amy!
This lesson is a .notebook file. You will need smart notebook software to open and use the file. This is the software that comes with a smart board. Unfortunately, each interactive whiteboard has its own software and they don't "play well" with each other (smile). Some buyers have told me that some of the other software does have an "import from notebook" option, but since I only have Notebook, I'm not sure how that works. If my lesson doesn't work for you, I sure hope you find some other great resources on TPT!!
Regards,
Lisa
