This packet helps students create a Descriptive Essay. It also contains modifications to differentiate for GATE students. GATE students create a photojournal essay (pages also included in here). This packet is complete. It has step by step guidelines for students to plan out their writing, tree map pre-write, rough draft template, proofreading checklist, and a list of activities to do when finished. It goes well with any English (Language Arts) descriptive writing standard and is a lesson that students enjoy and can make for a great activity.
I tried again this morning to download and it came through perfectly. Looking forward to seeing my students writing using this tool.

I tried several times, but I was not able to download the the Descriptive Essay..... document. It came up as jibberish!

***update** I don't have your email to contact you directly, but it is a pdf file so should be compatible with any computer. Do you have the latest version of Adobe acrobat to read pdfs?

I have had teaching experience in Los Angeles County and in Orange County, CA. I also have cooperating teaching experience in Santa Barbara and the American Embassy International School in India. I have taught Grades K, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7 as well as having pre-professional student teaching experience with Grades 1 and 4. As many other teachers discover, I rapidly realized that I needed to create supplemental curriculum that would meet the needs of ALL my students -- I have taught in a general education setting with students that have been identified as Gifted, English Language Learners, Autistic, as well as students who are various types of learners (mostly visual and kinesthetic).
