This activity has been tested in a community college Business Statistics class and would also be appropriate for AP Statistics classes. Students enjoy the hands-on activity, which takes about 30 minutes. This assignment could be the basis for a meaningful discussion on the meaning of the data revealed. I introduce this after students have learned the manual calculation so that we can focus on the meaning. You can change values in the data file and run the program again and again to change the results. The use of Excel introduces a "fun" element.
