This powerpoint is a supplement to the lesson plan and materials also posted on my site. It teachers descriptive writing using sunsets. It is taught in conjunction with the story, The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush, retold by Tomie DePaola. Students will work in groups to describe a different sunset, then share their descriptions with the class and have their classmates guess which one they are describing.
