This five page project for Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, is designed to be completed in the middle or end of your unit on Fahrenheit 451. It comes complete and ready for copy, along with a Rubric, Lesson Overview, and example projects for students to get ideas from. Students will research and design their own mechanical hound after linking their ideas with examples from the novel and with online research. They will then design and determine a presentation format that fits with their ideas. The teacher may choose to add a presentation component to the grade and the breakdown for points are shown for each part of the assignment in the rubric. The lesson overview page breaks down the project by initial work and research can also be graded, or required as part of the assignment. Enjoy this great "out-of-the-box" idea for your students who may not be as excited by Bradbury's masterful work as you are, and "draw" them into the novel unit with this creative project.
