Hi, This is a fun end of unit review activity to help students pull together all of the most important facts or details about a creature, person, place or thing they've been studying. This goes right along with our comprehension strategy of "determining importance". I begin by reading them "The Important Book" by Margaret Wise Brown. We review the structure she uses to talk about each item. The pages in this unit are set up with that structure for different people and careers. I have also included an example of an important poem about "me".

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for a little over 25 years, with the majority of my experience in first grade. However, my background is varied, as I have taught kindergarten, first grade, fourth and fifth grades. Currently, I teach in a Title I school teaching Title I Reading to K-4 students.
