This is a 1-page worksheet on developing and writing a thesis statement for a lit paper. The document simply outlines informational notes on the thesis statement, a simple math problem for developing the thesis with examplar, and space for a student to write his/her own thesis from a writing prompt you are working on. This is very much an upper-level lesson, and the teacher must be practiced and prepared to teach thesis statements. This is a great worksheet to provide with essay directions to help gear students in the right direction. As a New York State teacher of 7 years, I have come to truly understand the requirements of modern-day education. Currently a high school teacher of grades 9,11, 12, I do have experience in grades 6, 7, and 8.
