This is a 26-slide powerpoint written in ENGLISH about the Day of the Dead. You must have Microsoft Office 2007 or a way to read this powerpoint to use it. This powerpoint centers around this holiday is celebrated in Mexico. The traditions, foods, and decorations are described with detail. There are tons of colorful images to spark an interest in your students. Students are genuinely intrigued by this holiday which to Americans seems very morbid. There is also a Spanish-only version of this powerpoint that will be posted by 10/12/11. The last slide includes a set of three discussion questions that will allow your students to connect with what they've learned and help develop critical thinking skills. Enjoy! I love the bright colors and photos. I did add a few slides because I wanted my students to know a few more facts about how the day has changed and how expensive it is for the families. This saved me a great deal of time looking for the right photos.
