These are GREAT to include in your literacy centers/workstations. The dictionary skills require the kids to use dictionaries, learn new words, notice and record guide words, synonyms and antonyms of the word, and illustrating the word. The poetry skills page has the kids read a poem, jot down their favorite part, make a text connection, and illustrate the poem. The kids really enjoy this! Their ability to use dictionaries has greatly improved since I started including this in my literacy centers. I also love how they are reading and thinking about poetry each week.
