PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson provides students with an opportunity to transfer knowledge and apply what they have learned about the process of creating the Bill of Rights to the United States Constitution by emulating that process to create a Classroom Bill of Rights. It is aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Literacy in History/Social Studies, as well as national standards in Social Science and Illinois standards in Social Science, Mathematics and English Language Arts. The lesson can be adapted for students in grades three through twelve. The author has included a reflection and recommendations for differentiating the lesson.
