Students pick from a wide menu of items that are valued at different points, making sure to turn in enough points to satisfy the teacher requirement. Even on short weeks, just reduce the number of points required. Management tip: Run the menu off on card stock, laminate, hole punch, and place in a three-prong homework folder so you save paper on spelling homework all year long!

Hi Melinda! I used it with 3rd grade when I was self-contained, but have used a similar idea with a math version for grades 3-6. During a full week, I required 50 points (but I obviously worked them up to that much over time). Basically I would try to get them to do 5-10 points per night, so a short week might only be 20 points. Hopefully that helps a little. :) Thanks for stopping by! -Charity

I absolutely love this menu, however, for some reason it will not let me personalize it with the points number and date. Do you know how I might convert this to a Word file or what I might be doing wrong that I cannot work with the PDF file? Thank you for posting. judy

Hi Judy! It is a pdf and will not allow you to personalize. I don't think there is a way to convert a pdf to a word doc. I could only suggest to take the ideas and either use white out or retype. Thanks for stopping by!
