In this center, students will get to be little paleontologists! Each child will get a set of bones. They will then examine the bones with a magnifying glass and make some awesome discoveries! YOU MUST HAVE MAGNIFYING GLASSES TO DO THIS CENTER! They will find a teeny tiny word written on each bone. After they "discover" the word, they will write it on the provided response sheet under the correct word family.
The focus families in this center are: ig, ap, am and ot.
We used this today and it was so much fun! I placed the bones in empty toilet paper rolls and hid them around the yard. I gave my daughter a map of the bones and she had to find each and record them. She had so much fun making discoveries (plus I hid a few surprises along the way). Thanks for the great literacy activity!
I absolutely LOVE this activity!! We are going to do a different activity on a larger scale in the outdoor sandpit and this is going to be a wonderful suplementary activity centred around the smaller indoor sand tray. Thanks so much

A perfect literacy center for my kinders. Cute, creative, and most important, an excellent learning tool. Thanks!

Hi again, I still can download and see the whole doc. but can only print the pages that aren't bones. Is it possible to send it to me another way? I plan on asking my ET tomorrow about it also tho. Perhaps our school has some sort of block on it or I'm doing something wrong. Thanks.
Nancy
That's really strange, Nancy! I even test printed and it worked ok??? I DID use a different program to make this center, so I wonder if that has something to do with it. You can email me at littlekinderwarriors@hotmail.com and I will send it to you in a different format and we'll see if that works:)

My colleague and I have tried also to print this (which looks very appealing). It prints the first 3 pages and then stops at the bones. It gives a message saying 'a drawing error occured'. Please help. Thanks. Nancy
Hi Friends!
thanks for letting me know!!! I'm so sorry for he inconvenience. I uploaded the file again...this time in a zipfile. I tested it out and it worked for me. Please let me know if it works now!! We will figure something out!;) I would really appreciate any feedback:) Thanks for visiting my store:)
I can't print the bones either...so did some further investigating. I get a message that says it is password protected. Maybe that is why we can only print parts of the file? Charlee

For some reason I am not able to print your Dinosaur literacy center, word families. Is anyone else having difficulties with it or is it just my computer?
Thank you for your time and this activity is so awesome!

I'm not sure, Zan! It has over 200 downloads and no one's had a problem before. Send me your email and try sending you the pdf...or maybe a png would be better. We'll figure it out:)
