Do you use these unit studies whole group or in smaller reading groups? I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to do novel studies and reading groups.

Both - sometimes I use them in reading groups but if I have enough copies of the book I will also use some of the units whole class. I plan to use Holiday Harry & the Holidaze whole class because it's also a good book to teach Holidays Around the World. Some of the novel studies that are more difficult I will only use with my higherer readers. Really, you could do it either way - whichever works for you! :)
