Discrete Probabilities, Binomial, Hypergeometric, and Poisson

This assignment uses brief scenarios and Excel to teach discrete probabilities including Binomials, Hypergeometric, and Poisson. Students are asked to pair values from the problem with the correct variable. Then, students are given instructions for using Excel functions to calculate binomial, hypergeometric, and poisson distributions. The workbook contains 4 tabs where the first tab goes through each step of calculating mean, variance, and standard deviation of a general discrete distribution. The Binomial tab begins with a single Binomial calculation and then walks the student through a cumulative calculation. The last 2 tabs are Hypergeometric and Poisson. This assignment has been used in a Community College setting.
