Looking for a quick easy alternative to Word Walls and Word Wall Folders? This contains 5 teeny accordion-style reference books that contain the first 220 Dolch Sight Words (Set 1 is the Pre-Primer; Set 2 is the Primer; Set 3 is the First Grade List; Set 4 is the Second Grade List and Set 5 is the Third Grade List).
These are handy for writing folders, for quick assessments, for writing and reading workstations - the possibilities are numerous.
My students treat these like treasured trading cards. Once they master one set/level, they 'move' up to the next.
You simply cut, fold horizontally and fold accordion style and you are good to go. No need for index paper or glue - yeah!
I hope you and your students enjoy these micro-books.
I welcome any input and feedback.
P.S. If you want a specific set of words - say for a unit of study or seasonal activity, I am happy to create a tailored set for you. Just send me an email and turn around will be quick.
I am so happy your kiddos like these. My students were so motivated to learn the words so they could earn the next book. Thank you for visiting my catalog, for the purchase and taking the time to provide feedback. I am grateful.
The kids in my class really liked these as well - they used them like trading cards. Thanks for visiting my catalog, for purchasing this resource and for the feedback. I am thankful.
It makes me smile that your students like these. My students were so motivated to learn one set and earn the next set (kind of like baseball cards). I found them practicing during transitional times and quizzing each other naturally :D
Thanks for visiting my catalog, for the feedback and for the purchase - I am very grateful.

great idea! my students use them all the time during writing. Would also like themed accordion micro books such as Holiday words, adjectives, etc.
Thanks for the positive input and suggestions. I'd love to make more like you suggested. If you email me with your word lists I will create them and send you a free copy. I can be reached at cathyhink@gmail.com.
You are so welcome. Thank you for checking this out and leaving feedback, I really appreciate it. My students love these too. They treat them like trading cards. I like keeping one or two in a pocket for a quick check between transitions or during conferences. Thanks for buying it.
These are fun and easy to make - I am all for projects without glue! :) LOL. My student like these and they even collect them like baseball cards. I find them handy to keep on my desk, in my pocket and when I am walking around conferencing or when we are standing in line after recess or to walk into class - I do a quick review or assessment. Quite fun! Thanks for visiting my catalog and for the purchase, I really appreciate it.
I am glad you like these. My students get jazzed about practicing their words and collecting the next level. I like how I can keep one in a pocket and use it during conferencing or standing in line during a transition, etc. Thanks for posting feedback.

My students just love these - looking forward to the sentence building accordion!
I am so glad you and your students enjoy these. My students like them as well and they like collecting them. I like to keep it handy for a quick check during transitions or conferences. Instead of the accordion sentences I created the sentence building folders. There is one titled "Earth" (in honor of Earth Day), and one called "Pets". This is a popular choice in my writing workstations. I like it because it is easy to print, glue, laminate and voila you are done! I hope to include a couple more this coming week because I am on Spring Break.
Thanks for checking out my catalog.
Cheers,
Cathy
4/21/12: Hi - I just posted a Star Wars Sentence builder - maybe I will transfer this to an accordion format just for fun. I will keep you posted.
