A poetry analysis lesson using "Dover Beach" by Matthew Arnold. Includes a Word document explaining how to use the lesson, as well as a PowerPoint slideshow that walks through an analysis of the poem.
I use this particular poem with my 10 Honors English students when we are reading Fahrenheit 451 (because "Dover Beach" shows up in the novel).
The lesson could be used with any higher-level learners.
The method behind the lesson can be adapted to different poems and different levels of learner.
