American Lits Greatest Hits is a nostalgic and humorous return trip to the great authors of American Literature. Along the way, we meet two English teachers, Mrs. Godfrey and Ms. Malory, who introduce us to Mr. Hogan and his extremely quirky and strange lesson plans. The first semester involves us with Edgar Alan Poe and his Raven; Hester Prynne from The Scarlet Letter; Gloomy Emily Dickenson and her charming cheerleaders; Nantucket Nell, the girl Ishmael of Moby Dick should have met before going off with Captain Ahab; and Huck Finn, singing the praises of the mighty Mississippi.
The second semester takes us on a date with Daisy of The Great Gatsby and her two suitors, Tom and Jay. Jane Goodall meets Hemingway in a scene which pokes fun at masculine mystique of Hemingway. Holden Caulfield from The Catcher in the Rye joins his two friends Sally and Lillian in a hilarious song and dance routine which asks the eternal question, Has Anybody Seen My Jane? And Ma and Pa Joad foresee only good times for their epic trip to California.
