Students understand how to write short responses (about character, setting, narrator, etc.) based on their independent reading books. Teacher will walk students through the process of how to create effective logs and responses that show the readers understanding and comprehension of the text. There are teachers model in this lesson, as well as different options of ELA strategies for students to apply to their own reading and respond to.
