The Eclectic Learning Profile (ELP) is more than just a learning style inventory. The ELP investigates 12 different ways of learning or ways of processing reality and then offers recommendations on how to maximize learning potential and how to get organized. It helps to reveal each student's unique ways of assimilating information, so service providers, teacher and parents can offer empowering strategies that work. In addition to the inventory, a comprehensive manual offers administration support, helpful handouts, specific organizational and learning strategies, and workshop materials that can assist any learning environment. Who can use the ELP: Learning specialists and tutors can use this instrument to reveal comfortable and empowering compensatory strategies to teach their students. Also, during initial consultations, the ELP can be utilized as a wonderful ice breaker which will offer a list of recommendations that a family can effectively implement at home. Parents are enlightened by the ELP, because they can learn how each family member assimilates and recalls information best. Students find the inventory easy to complete, very informative, and easy to apply. When a students unique approach to learning is internalized, attitudes and motivation will improve and academic success will abound. Career counselors can use the ELP to help uncover appropriate future occupations for respondents. For instance, tactile learners love to work with their hands, thus careers such as massage therapy, sculpting, and architectural design may prove to be most fulfilling for them. Testing Professionals can utilize the ELP to enhance reports. The manual is full of study and organizational recommendations that will assist all types of learners. Teachers can discover each student's unique needs as well as their class profiles. Empowering, multisensory teaching strategies and well as appropriate assignments are uncovered.
