Recently our school has been asked to add rubrics to both our students drafts and published writing pieces. This was a first draft for me to make a rubric. I think it is a good jumping off point and you can alter it to make it more specific to your needs.
It is nice to have "kid friendly" language for the kids, but I have found this makes it easier for me to grade the writing later on.
