This booklet is designed to introduce early elementary students to a basic concept of art, the secondary colors. In painting and color mixing, there are three colors that are made from the primary colors. These are referred to as the Secondary colors. The three secondary colors are Orange, Green, and Purple.
This booklet can be used in several ways:
Independent art activity
Small group activity
Small group activity lead by a teacher
The first three chapters will introduce students to the individual colors, with coloring pages and craft ideas, showing how each color is made. It is then followed by art projects using the primary and secondary colors together.
Basic art supplies will be needed to complete some of the art projects. These can be purchased at your local craft store. A supply list will be given with each activity.
