PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Students participate in a cooperative simulation/role-playing game in which each group of students is a hunter-gatherer band. The simulation progresses as the unit does, with the agricultural revolution and the changes it brings to each band in your classroom.

Student groups are divided by climate zone, with each band responsible for using the resources in their particular region. Bands will respond to different situations chosen by the teacher (i.e. flood, fire, raid) and trade for items their region does not include. Ultimately, food production begins (agricultural revolution), and students complete the handouts based on the information in their textbook.

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE PURCHASE: I created this simulation to correspond to the McDougal-Littell World History: Ancient Civilization textbook for middle school 6th graders. I am unaware of any significant differences between editions. Also, the simulation is not a scripted step-by-step project, and depends on the teacher to fill in the story.
