This handout was created to use at a math station that practices counting money. To set up, use 12 plastic easter eggs (numbered 1-12) and an egg carton to hold them. Put the various coin amounts in the eggs. Students will open an egg, count the amount and write the answer on the numbered egg on the handout. They can find the amount on the little eggs and cross it off to keep themselves on track. There is a blank handout included if you wanted to do smaller or larger money amounts.

We used this game with my 4 yo and he enjoyed the discovery of the coins inside and then figuring out how much was in each egg. Also like that we can adapt the game for various coin amounts. Thanks for sharing!

I have been teaching since 2000. I started out in 4th grade for two years then went on to teach 3rd grade for 6 years. I have been teaching 1st grade ever since and have loved every bit of it. I believe all elementary teachers need to experience 1st grade for at least a year....there is so much learning and growing going on...it is amazing!
