Easter Synonyms Literacy Centers, Recording Sheets and Award
3 Ways to Play -
30 page download – 120 Words (60 pairs of synonyms) –
5 complete sets with different Easter backings (backings different from antonyms center so they won’t get mixed up!) and print color to keep them separate. Designed to be printed out back to back with 5 distinct Easter graphics printing on the reverse side.
**First print pages 1-12.
**Next, place the word sheets face up and facing you in the printer’s paper tray.
**Now, print out pages 13-22 which contain 5 different types of backings (Easter graphics) that will be printed on the reverse side of each sheet. These Easter graphics will keep the games separated.
**Page 23 contains all 5 answer keys.
**Pages 24-28 are five optional Easter themed recording sheets (one to match each activity backing) if you’d like students to write the pairs of synonyms. You can make copies for students to write on or laminate them and ask students to use erasable markers. The larger recording sheets work best for erasable markers.
**Pages 29, 30, and 31 are SMALLER Easter recording sheets in black and white if you would like students to record in pencil.
**Pages 32 and 33 are 4 optional Easter Amazing Synonyms Super Star Awards, 2 in color and 2 in black and white.
**Finally, just cut each word card sheet on the paper cutter into 12 square cards. If you prefer not to print out back to back, you can print out backings separately and glue to plain sides of word cards or use the cards without any backings.

The sets of cards can be used as follows:
Activity 1: Memory/Concentration - 5 separate Easter games with 24 cards in each set. Place those 24 cards (12 pairs) face down in 4 rows of 6. Students play Memory or Concentration, turning over 2 cards at a time and keeping them if they are synonyms. The game is over when all cards are gone. The winner is the student with the most cards. Keep cards that belong together in individual baggies. It will be easy to keep the correct cards together because the backings will print out the same. Ask students to record the words if you’d like.

Activity 2:
Simply give individuals or small groups of students the 24 cards in a set, and ask them to match them up as synonyms. Then students use the recording sheets to write the pairs of synonyms.

Activity 3: Play as a “Go Fish” game. Put 2 sets of cards together. Deal 5 cards to each player. A player asks another player, “Do you have a synonym for ‘big’?”, etc. If not, the player would draw a card from the pile. Instead of students holding cards in their hands, you can create a long tent with a sheet of 9 x 12 construction paper, and students can prop up their cards along the tent.
Please take a look at my other spring products themed around baseball, signs of spring, frogs, fishing and more. Skills include contractions, antonyms, sight words, addition, subtractions and more.

Hi, thanks for your feedback on the synonyms and antonyms centers! I have sets with a spring theme, too, as well as other holidays and themes. I am currently working on some basketball learning centers for math and literacy, similar to my baseball, football and soccer centers. So if you are looking for March Madness activities, be sure to search as "basketball". Recently, I have posted products for Read Across March 1 (Emergent Readers called "Read Across American Community Helpers" and 2 sets of leveled game boards called "Read Words Across America"), St. Patrick's Day(such as a Lucky Charms Math Center), Spring (such as an M&M Center and a Jelly Bean Center), Easter, Dental Health Month, Earth Day, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and Father's Day. For all of these themes, there are sets of Songs/Poems, sets of Readers, most with 3 different reading levels (emergent and 2 harder), Sight Word Game Boards with those same themes, Sight Word Memory/Concentration and card games, onset rime games, Build A Word wheels and, in some cases, PowerPoint presentations. I have posted many spring products and updated some of by spring centers with newer clipart. There are sets of mini books called Spring Signs (emergent and harder 3 levels), another set of readers in 3 levels (4 versions of each level) called "Easter", a set of Easter poems/songs for shared reading and fluency, Spring Build A Word Wheels (DIBELS onset rime), Onset Rime Centers like Birds and Nests, Catch a Frog, Catch a Butterfly, Soccer, and Baseball, Spring and Easter Sight Words Game Boards, Winter Snowmen Addition Fact Families, Winter Themed Synonyms Center, Spring Themed Antonyms Center, Spring Themed Contractions Center, Spring and Easter Counting and Skip Counting rand more to come.
