Easter-Themed Multi-Syllable Nonsense/Real Word Sort for Advanced Phonics Learners. This activity will help students practice reading multi-syllable nonsense and real words which is required in mastering phonics. Words contain blends, digraphs, vowel combinations, long vowels, short vowels, and r-controlled vowels. All words contain two or three-syllables.
Students will sort the words and place them under the correct category (real words or nonsense words), and then record them on the provided recording sheets. Students will need to read these words to their teacher to check for accuracy in pronunciation.
Great for Differentiated Phonics Centers!
36 Real Word Cards
36 Nonsense Word Cards
1, 2, and 3 Syllable Words in Each Set
Use them all or choose which ones to use to differentiate with your students. Record all the words on the recording sheet or break into two groups of 18, or four groups of 9. Lots of possibilities.
You could also print the cards twice and have your students play concentration.
