This guided inquiry activity involves the student in the study of the growth rate in a rabbit population. The student assumes the role of scientist to determine the growth rate and the size of the rabbit population over a 20 year period. The data is plotted on a graph where the student will clearly see the initial exponential growth of the population followed by logistic growth. The activity will reinforcement the concept of carrying capacity. Follow up questions are though provoking and will strengthen critical thinking skills.
