If you are teaching economics, this unit will really help you beef up your lesson plans. This unit covers wants & needs, goods & services, consumers & producers, types of resources, bartering, and opportunity cost. To spice it up, this unit has a variety of types of activities to help keep kids engaged. Included are:
- multiple flapbooks
- lesson ideas
- reflection pages
- a cooperative learning project
Also included are printable money for a fun economics activity. This could provide some counting money and making change practice to complement your math.
I LOVED this unit! It was so fun and each day there was something a little different for the students to do. The layouts were fun and easy and there was really no preparation time! I would just add a couple of videos to the unit to make it complete for me!
I have to admit that teaching social studies is not my favorite thing, but this packet looks like a lot of fun and for once I am excited about a social studies unit!

I downloaded the economics unit and have latest adobe reader, but I'm unable to get it to print out. Have had our computer lab teacher check my computer and our printer, but she feels its something with the unit. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jennifer
Do you have it set to printable area? Also, did you choose auto-rotate and center? If these things don't work, maybe I could get your email address and email you what my print settings look like.
Shanna- thank you for replying! The font that is giving my eyes grief is the big bold one but I THINK it is just when reading it on my computer. I have it printed and am going to look through it all tomorrow.
At the beginning of my career I had the chance to teach 3rd grade for two years. After that experience I was blessed with the opportunity to move to a different school where I've been teaching 2nd grade for almost 6 years!
