I would say that this lesson is definitely better for 2nd-3rd grade. I teach 4th, and only used bits and pieces of it. Love the carnival idea!!
It was difficult to open the .notebook files, but I found this site helpful and it allowed me to open them.

I just wanted to say that we finished this unit today. It was amazing! One of the highlights of the year. Thank you! The kids loved the material and can explain economics up and down. I loved the Smart Notebook lessons. We had community business owners come in and talk to them too. Thank you!

Just bought this unit and I'm super excited to use it. (I think there may be a typo on the producers/consumers worksheet. The first fill in the blank I believe there is an "s" missing on the word good.) I was quickly browsing through it so please forgive me if I am wrong!!! I think my class is going to LOVE this unit! The smartboard lessons can only be opened if you have smartnotebook. If you don't have it, you can go to smarttech.com and download interactive viewer for free. You will be able to use it then. For Brainpop, just use the free trial. I hope that works!!

Yes. You can download interactive viewer from smartnotebook at http://smarttech.com/Solutions/Education+Solutions/Products+for+education/Software/SMART+Notebook+collaborative+learning+software/SMART+Notebook+Interactive+Viewer It will allow you to open up the files on your computer and if you have a projector, you can project it. You can also print the materials off instead. Anything that is interactive, you will only be able to view on the computer.... So it won't be exactly what you would get with smartnotebook...
