Using Student Smile Strips in the classroom is a great way to build a positive classroom community. This activity is used to help students highlight positive qualities in their classmates. At the end of this mini project, each student will have a mini booklet full of personal positive comments about their best qualities written/highlighted by their peers.
This resource packet includes the following:
An short excerpt from my book Your Quick Guide to Effective Classroom Management. (This is an article written about how to create a respecftul classroom environment.)
Teacher directions and the templates needed to easily complete this project in your class.
A mini inspirational "RESPECT" image that can be displayed in your classroom. (This can be cut out and used anywhere i.e. students' notebooks, door image, board image, etc.)

I've been teaching for 14 years. I have a Masters+. I am currently the Academic Dean of Students. In the past I have taught 4th grade (6 years), 3rd grade (5 years), 6th grade (2 yrs), 1st grade (1 year) and incoming college freshman (as an adjunct instructor for a community college).
