Revised in February 2011 to included writing skills as tested on state tests and benchmark tests! These are great activities for independent work during universal access time. The sheets for this story cover the following skills: words ending in -y, words with "kn", words with "gh", parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, personal connections, writing skills, matching skills, ABC order, making predictions, syllables, plurals, sequencing, subject/predicate, author's purpose, cause/effect, high frequency words, and table of contents. In my classroom, the children complete these during independent work time, then we check answers together. They love doing them!
